  1. Process for defining the Vision and Mission of the Department:

Vision and Mission of the Department are defined through a consultation process involving the stakeholders of the Department.

In defining the Vision and Mission of the Department, the following steps were followed:

Step 1: Vision and Mission of the Institute are taken as basis.

Step 2: Views are collected by the Program Coordinator from stakeholders of the Department such as faculty, Industry, Management, Parents, Alumni, Professional members.

Step 3: The views collected by the Program Coordinator are reviewed by the Department Advisory Committee to arrive at the Vision and Mission of the Departmen with Institute’s Vision and Mission.

Step 4: The finalized Vision & Mission Statements were disseminated to stakeholders

B. Process for defining the PEOs of the Department

 

Opinions of the stakeholders have been obtained through deliberations to evolve the PEOs. The vision and mission statements of the department are the foundation educational objectives.

Stage 1: Brainstorming sessions to define the PEOs were conducted.

Stage 2: Benchmarking of defined PEOs was done.

Stage 3: Feedbacks from the Stakeholders were taken.

Stage 4: Feedbacks from the experts were taken and modifications based upon feedbacks were done.

Moderate Correlation (2): Technical competence supports industry readiness through hands-on training and professional exposure.

 they are moderately correlated (2) with the implementation of mechanical engineering principles across sectors. While they can enhance students ability to innovate, they might not be the primary focus in all sectors.

Programme specific outcomes (PSOs)

Operational and Manufacturing Expertise :  The ability to understand ,operate and maintain modern machine tool and equipment and to apply manufacturing process and thermal engineering principle to produce quality component with industrial precision.

Technical Design and Documentation:  The  ability to use modern CAD/CAM software and technical drawing standards  to create, interpret and modify engineering design and process plans for mechanical system and assemblies.
